PULLED OUT, COSIED UP & BUTTONED OVER

Well, so much for an extra days knitting.
I took it to the shop and Wendolene measured the tension. I'm a slightly tight knitter, so the verdict was - pull it out. Here it is, after the visit from the
Wool Winder Fairy.
It knocks you off your stride, pulling out. So rather than launch straight into another garment I've made a tea cosy and a couple of egg cosies (just what I'm short of). Knit in 4ply (oh, I love knitting 4ply) from a Martin Storey pattern, they are really nice to knit. The egg cosies are a little bit big, but I suppose if you like duck/goose eggs you might need them this size. I made the second one slightly shorter. I think the tea cosy could do with being a little bit longer, but it's an easy pattern that could be jazzed up with more colours, beads etc........Buttons?

.........Well talking of buttons, I love buttons, the more the better!
So look what the delivery man brought.
I was only out of the shop for a couple of minutes and when I got back Wendolene was having a flush, (I think it was because he had shorts on - apparently!), only kidding. She had written on the box -
MINE - ALL MINE

What do you think of that.... Not even sharing now.
Ooooh, gonna have lots of fun playing with wool and all the lovely buttons.
Wendolene has even been known to talk to buttons!
The cabinets will have to be reorganised again... I get all the rotten jobs!!
.....and mentioning beads has made me think of Debbies workshop.....
.....only 10days to go
I cannot wait.......
Happy Knitting, Barbara x

TWIT A WOO - That's Hello in OWLY

I had a visit from the lovely Quilty Clare yesterday - and look who she brought with her. Can you spot him hiding in the wool?

It's baby owl - isn't he adorable!! I want one!

We also had a quick visit from 'Big Anne', to show us how she's getting on with her crochet. Anne is just a beginner, and this is her first crochet project! It's going to be a huge version of the picnic blanket that I made from last Summers ROWAN Book. Wendolene made the 501 chain (gasp) to help get her started. This is only a few days work - well done Anne!

(Lots of Applause)

I have been very naughty this week. Two more projects started. The Debbie Bliss baby cardigan on Wednesday (I've made the back and the pocket linings). The latest project, started on Friday evening, is a Cardigan in ROWAN Denim. We got a new book in - and, well, everything in it is lovely. It was hard enough deciding which one to make, so as it's a Bank Holiday and I've got an extra days knitting - what the heck!!

Finished the Back!
I'm knitting faster than normal - probably due to all the malteasers I've eaten.
(Two packets for £2 at Sainsburys!!)

Well have a laid back Bank Holiday - we are!!

This is Toby Tiger and Charlie - both crashed out.

Time for a cuppa, happy knitting (and crocheting), Barbara x
